We've all been blogging for a good while, now. We've seen lots of blogs - the good, the bad, and the ugly. One of the common themes we've noticed among the best ones is a really good blog design. Two of us offer free designs ourselves, and there are plenty of people out there who will do it for a price. Believe it or not, though, there was a time when each of us had just started out blogging, and our designs? They were pretty awful. We created this blog to give you a chance to make the perfect design all by yourself. It can get frustrating at times, but trust us, it's worth it.
There's another common theme among the best blog designs, and that's the Minima template. It was the original Blogger template, launched before template designer even existed. Over the years, it's been tweaked a little to work with some of Blogger's newer options for customizing, but it's still not as user-friendly as some of the other templates. Still, we would argue that it's hands-down the best for customization. If you want to really personalize your design, you're going to want to work directly into the code on that "Edit HTML" page. The Minima code is, in most people's opinions, the simplest and easiest to understand. With a little practice, you'll be designing your heart out in no time.
Plus, once you get rid of those curly fonts and neon patterned backgrounds on your blog, we'll thank you for it and we think your followers will too.
